My take on the Holidazzle!
As Jess recently posted, last night we went downtown for the last ever Holidazzle parade. At least the last one as it's known now. I've been to a few of the parades in the past but this one had special meaning to me. It was our first as a couple, during our first year of marriage. We parked several blocks away, knowing the ramps right by Nicollet Mall would be a nightmare afterwards. After stopping for a cup of coffee, or mocha or whatever Jess gets we started our journey to the parade rate. Tons of people lined the streets but we were able to get a nice cozy spot about 5-6 feet from the street, with only a couple people in front of us. Jess and I each commented on the different locations that people had set up camp, either for a great view or perhaps more important for some, the comfort of warmth. We both insisted, part of our affection for the Holidazzle is dressing up warm and standing out in the cold, but we also know that we can (and will) always keep each other warm. Here's to the final Holidazzle, thanks for the memories!
