Our first foray into holiday baking!

We decided to really get into the spirit this year for our first Christmas season as a married couple. We hosted Scott's extended family for Christmas the first weekend of December. So we decided to go all out in decorating the house this year! We spent a nice evening at home with Christmas music playing and decorated the tree together. It took a little convincing to get Scott to not want to watch a DVR'd show during the decorating, but after it was over he had fun! I am so glad that we are starting new traditions that will continue after we start our family. We even made a frustrating attempt at outdoor lights... Next year, I think we are going to start that process before snow!

We also participated in some other fun holiday events this December! We went on a date night and saw A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie. It was Scott's first time and we both loved the show! It will for sure be a tradition we continue. We also went to see Keri Noble's Christmas show at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. We are lucky enough to have a very talented friend who sings back up for Keri. It was a really fun experience! This weekend, we are planning on going to the Holidazzle parade. Sadly this is the last year of the parade, so we wanted to be sure to get that in.

We also decided to dive into Christmas cookie making, as well as making mini banana bread loaves as gifts for our neighbors. We even made homemade dog cookies for Murphy and the neighbor dogs!

Here are some pictures from the first night of baking!

Peanut Butter Blossoms ready for the oven.

All done and looking delicious.

Time to start the puppy cookies!

Cornflake wreaths.. NEVER again!

They turned out really pretty though!

Murphy was really excited about his cookies!

Patiently waiting to eat his treat!
