Christmas 2013 isn't even over for the Ploehns yet (we are heading to Jackson in the morning to celebrate with my fam) but its already been a complete success. Jess and I spent Christmas eve with her dad's side of the family which is always so much fun. Tradition there is to buy bingo boards, each time you get bingo you pick a prize and the first to cover their entire card gets the pot of money! It truly is a ton of fun! Christmas day we woke up and did our own family gift exchange (I'm sure Jess will post pictures), including Murphy - duh. I think we each surprised each other with our "best" gift as we each saved them as our final gift for one another. Jess found this awesome Gopher banner, of the Minnesota rouser! It'll go perfect on my Gopher wall and I'm so excited to put it up! I had to be pretty sneaky with the last gift I gave Jess. She's wanted a wine rack for quite a while. I knew she really liked a certain look and I just needed the time to make it happen. While in Jackson over Thanksgiving I had a few hours to work on the project - she was working, so I knew she wouldn't be able to "catch" me. I made 2 wine racks out of an old pallet. She had absolutely no clue what it was...I don't even think she knew once it was unwrapped (ok, I'll be honest, I "wrapped" it in a black plastic garbage bag)!
Murphy also got plenty of new toys and he's super excited to play with all of them. I don't even think he knows which toy to play with sometimes. Its so cute to watch him play.
The Ploehn family Christmas is Saturday night, so I'll probably update this post sometime shortly after that. Til then, Merry Christmas! Hope yours is as good as ours has been!
