In my most recent post I mentioned the Ploehn family Christmas was the Saturday after Christmas day. In a tradition we started several years ago we make fondue (mainly oil) for dinner and then open presents after that. This year was a little different as we opened some presents before fondue, mainly for the kids' best interest...nap time is very important in a 2-3 year old's life! The fondue, as always, was quite tasty. Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon and evening we spent together. Later that night, we played in the "pool" as my niece Emmy would call it. I'm sure Jess (you'll notice from our blog that she's always posting the pictures as she is certainly the photographer of the 2 of us) will post pictures showing exactly why the pool has " " around it :)
All in all, it was a great weekend in Jackson. We ended it with a train display that my parents put on the last Sunday of the year. For the last 10-15 years my dad has been collecting toy trains and building structures to hold them all. Being a farm, he doesn't have a lot of time to do this, typically just in the winter. And for the past few years my parents have hosted a train open house. People from all over come see the trains, old and young enjoy them. Its fun to see! Im guessing Jess might have a few pictures of that too!
